• Sampdoria’s hopes of qualifying for European football next season are all but over after a shock 3-0 defeat to Bologna last weekend. They will now try and help see Fabio Quagliarella finish the campaign as the top scorer in Serie A.
• Lazio are into the Coppa Italia final and winning the cup would grant them direct qualification into the Europa League group stage. Given they are currently eighth, that is a huge prize for the away side. Their focus will be on that competition and that should benefit Sampdoria here.
