• RB Leipzig rested Lukas Klostermann, Ibrahima Konaté, Willi Orban and Marcel Halstenberg in their last Bundesliga match of the season for them to be fit here.
• Kevin Kampl, Marcel Sabitzer and Emil Forsberg were also rested and should all return in midfield against Bayern Munich.
• Up front, Yussuf Poulsen and Timo Werner are expected to rotate back in. This could be the latter’s final game for the club.
• Manager Ralf Rangnick could also switch to a back-three, with Nordi Mukiele starting as a third centre-back and one of the midfielders remaining on the bench, however.

• Sven Ulreich would get another chance in goal, if Manuel Neuer does not recover from a calf injury in time.
• Javi Martínez and the more attack-minded Leon Goretzka compete for a spot in central midfield.
• James Rodríguez could return from a muscle injury to provide a further option in midfield.
• Rafinha, Arjen Robben and Franck Ribéry are unlikely to start in their final competitive game for Bayern Munich, but will hope to at least come in from the bench in the second half.

• RB Leipzig have qualified for the Champions League after a strong season, in which they boasted the Bundesliga’s best defence. Their early Europa League exit allowed them to focus on domestic competitons in 2019 and they have only lost two of their 20 competitive matches in this calendar year, with one of those defeats having come in their last game against Bremen, where they had nothing to play for and rested almost their entire normal XI with the DFB-Pokal final in mind. Ralf Rangnick will return to his role as the sporting director again in the summer and hopes to end his spell as a manager with a trophy, before Hoffenheim manager Julian Nagelsmann takes over in the summer.
• Bayern Munich are high on confidence after wrapping up their seventh straight league title with a 5-1 win over Frankfurt on the final day of the Bundesliga campaign. Despite winning another league title, Niko Kovac’s future as manager is in doubt after their poor Champions League campaign. Even winning the DFB-Pokal may not be enough to save his job. Bayern have only lost two of their 22 competitive matches in 2019, but face a challenging opponent here, who are better rested.
