Alexander Zverev vs. Robin Haase ( WON )

Alexander Zverev enters this tournament losing his last two matches, which includes a first round upset in Stuttgart. In the losing effort, Zverev had 14 double faults and was broken three times. Right when it looked like Zverev was turning the corner with a quarterfinal trip at the French Open, he goes back to having issues with his serve and piling up the unforced errors. It’s been a frustrating season for the talented German and now there’s an even bigger question mark hanging over his head. Zverev has lost his opening match three times in his last seven tournaments. Zverev has split his last four matches on grass court.

Robin Haase enters this tournament losing eight of his last 12 matches and five of his last eight losses have been decided in straight sets. Haase is coming off a loss in the Netherlands where he had five double faults and won just 53 percent of his total service points. In his first round French Open loss, Haase got just 48 percent of his first serves in play and piled up 43 unforced errors. Needless to say, Haase has seen better days with his play and could use a confidence boosting victory. Haase has seven career wins over top-10 players with three of those wins coming since 2017. Haase has split his last six matches on grass court.

Zverev has had his issues this season, but he has shown some bright spots and it’s only a matter of time before things turn around. Haase has had nothing going for him all year and his serving has been absolutely horrible. Even if Zverev remains in this funk, Haase is going to give him enough break points to stay in and eventually win the match.
