Juventus’s last two games in Serie A were definitely below par for such a team, drawing 2:2 with Atalanta away, while losing 1:2 to Lazio at home. Prior to these two games, the Bianconeri have clinched six wins in which they have scored 18 goals and conceded only 3, which were during their visits away. In the UCL, the team started with a terrible loss of 0-3 against Barcelona, while after that they had a tough victory against Greek champion Olympiacos.
Sporting, on the other hand, started fantastically their season with only one draw in their first nine games. Afterwards, their form dropped and in four games they were not able to clinch a victory. During the weekend, they were able to defeat Oleiros with 4-2 in the Portuguese Cup.
Sporting are currently second in the Portuguese Primeira Liga with 20 points in six wins and two draws. They won against Olympiacos (3:2) in their first game in the group stage while losing their second game at home against Barcelona (0:1).
Juventus were in a series of five consecutive home wins without conceding a goal in this season prior to the game with Lazio. The only game in which they were not able to score was in the game against Barcelona. Goalscorer Dybala has not been able to find the net in the last three games.
The Portuguese team were not able to score in three of their last five games in all tournaments but were able to score in all of their seven visits away this season.
Howedes, De Sciglio, Lichtsteiner are all out for Juventus but the Bianconeri’s class is extremely high. They have no room for error and victory will be theirs.
